The second half of IPL 2021 is just around the corner. It really has been a revolution in cricket – where one can see the rookies , National stars and international players together playing for same teams. We also get to see our Indian players turning to rivals on the field. This has become a great medium of entertainment for all.
Naturally, this has managed to catch the attention of the kids as well. A lot of kids actually started following cricket after watching the nail-biting IPL games. Close finishes, high catches, breath-taking fielding, huge sixes – all these are enough to keep someone hooked to this game.
It has been found that the kids have a rapport with the south -based franchise teams. Especially Royal Challengers Bangalore – lot of kids follow this team because of AB Devilliers, who is also known as Mr 360 degree for his ability to hit sixes in almost every direction of the stadium. His teammate over there is Virat Kohli and he needs no special introduction. A lot of kids also follow CSK or Chennai Super Kings for Mahendra Singh Dhoni and we all know the destruction he can cause with his bat when he is on song.
Other players like Jasprit Bumrah, Glen Maxwell are greatly followed and at times imitated as well by kids. Although its good to watch IPL at times , but it must be done in such a way that it does not hamper their study routine at all. This must be looked at by parents and if possible , they can be introduced to the other forms of cricket, which would allow them to fully appreciate the game to its truest sense.
